Sr. Environmental Monitor/Freshwater Ecosystem Specialist
As the EDS Freshwater Ecosystem Specialist, Rider brings expertise in stream, lake, and wetland classification, as well as specialist training in groundwater assessment, watershed assessments and aquatic macrophyte control. In past years, Rider has worked closely with the IPP industry to conduct flow studies and assist with the development of proprietary riparian assessment procedures.
Most recently, Rider successfully lead the environmental monitoring team responsible for foreshore and subtidal developments during the construction of the Ittatsoo Village Sanitary Infrastructure Upgrades Project. During this project, he spent several months monitoring the construction of the uplands and intertidal infrastructure, as well as the creation of the marine habitat compensation requirements. Rider provides several specialized services to the EDS team, including: environmental management and planning, erosion and sediment control planning, water quality monitoring, and the development and installation of mitigation measures.
This experience has been developed by working for more than a decade on fisheries and construction monitoring projects in British Columbia and Alberta, including spending more than two years working for the Pollution Prevention Division of the Ministry of Environment. Rider shares management responsibilities on many of our environmental projects, and coordinates the majority of our field programs.
Rider has experience directing in-stream restoration and fish habitat construction projects.
